About Your Coach

Marijke has a PhD in Psychology and worked as an associate professor at University, being a teacher and researcher. She could not find a school where her autistic daughter would be comfortable and feel safe. Although she had little to no support for her decision, she decided to take her daughter out of the school system and build a home-based program where her daughter would feel safe and happy. Her daughter started to connect with people again and started learning and growing social skills. After seeing what following her wants without relying on other people's validation or approval did for the well-being of her daughter, she was struck at how little she followed her wants to take care of herself. She started applying her knowledge and skills that helped her daughter to herself. And although at times that was hard and scary, she is now happier and more energetic than she could have ever imagined . She developed the 8-step P.O.W.E.R.F.U.L. method that includes all the skills that helped her being happy and lead a life of joy and ease, without relying on other people's validation or approval.
